March 24, 2020 “The Basics of Raising Backyard Chickens in the Suburbs” presented by Camden County Chickens and Oaklyn Green Team.  Learn how easy it is to set up a coop, select hens and care for them year-round as well as the legal issues in your town. It is legal in Oaklyn, NJ. This is the required class for towns with pilot programs and new ordinances to be able to get a license. Gwenne Baile, Chair of Camden County Chickens is the presenter.  Oaklyn Fire Department Community Room, 20 W. Clinton Avenue, Oaklyn, NJ. 08107. Cost is $10 per person and pre-registration strongly advised to reserve a seat. Seat limited.  Registration at 6:30 pm and class is 7-9:30 pm. CANCELLED – Certification Class as a Handler of Therapy Hens

CANCELLED

Learn all you need to know about therapy chickens and how to create a therapy chicken program from Gwenne Baile, nationally known therapy hen handler. $35/person. Registration ends March 15   Participants must already own chickens. No walk-ins accepted. A follow-up exam is given. Once passed, you will be awarded a certificate as a Certified Handler of Therapy Hens.

Time again for Chicken School. The absolute last class until March, will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2019 in Haddon Township. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER AND PAY prior to September 8. Cost is $10 per person and walk-ins are not accepted.

Gwenne Baile, Chair, of Camden County Chickens and Therapy Hens will teach you how easy and rewarding it is to raise a backyard flock. Learn everything from choosing the r
ight chicks, how not to get a rooster, setting up a predator-proof coop, and keeping your hens happy and healthy year-round. This class is mandatory for most towns where there are new ordinances or pilot programs. It would be good for residents of other towns to attend the class if you’re are looking into modifying existing ordinances. There will be a hen joining us!
